Regarding choice of the work presented “Notre Dame of Paris”, the message conveyed is that of discrimination against women in the Catholic Church (1), that is to say, their lack of access to the responsibilities of governing, to teach and sanctify, depending on gender. This could be addressed by bringing this church more into line with the very principles of gender equality it upholds. ?

“Freedom of religion” exonerates today, fact, the Catholic Church of a revision of its provisions and arguments relating to the exclusion of women from cultural functions.

But perhaps it is time and necessary to put our finger on the incompatibility of the exclusion of women from the responsibilities of governing, to teach and sanctify with rights that affirm and promote gender equality ?

The states, through their joint bodies, l’Europe, don't they have a duty to protect women against violations of their rights made "in the name of God" ?

How can we still, on women's rights, “give in” to “religious” ?

Would this legal approach not ultimately be the only possible way to overcome resistance and strategies of refusal of gender equality in the Catholic Church? ?

Number of Catholics , men and women , noted and denounced the “asymmetry” and existing inequalities between the religious role of women and that of men in the Catholic Church.

They showed, long enough, that none of the arguments of the magisterium justify the exclusion of women from the responsibilities of governing, to teach and sanctify.

The exclusion of women from religious functions, to the responsibilities of governing, to teach and to sanctify can be qualified as discrimination and must be the subject of a prohibition in law.

The principle of prohibition of discrimination, affirmed in international law, in European law is "a principle transversal to all human rights".

It is linked to the principles of equality and dignity of persons.

From a legal point of view, sex discrimination is considered incompatible with human dignity.

Discrimination against women violates the principles of equal rights and respect for human dignity.

gender figure, in legal terms, among the points of differentiation deemed illegitimate.

Are the distinctions of functions between men and women in the Church not discriminatory because they reserve “positions of power” for men and limit “the range of options” of life choices for women? ?

Does not this differentiation of roles between the sexes in the Church suppose another inequality?, relating to the conception of the feminine and the masculine ?

The difference in value that is attributed to one sex and the other, distinction between feminine and masculine, asserted natural differences, do they not lead to the maintenance of inequalities at all levels? ?

Are not distinctions based on sex prohibited in the Church as discrimination?, because they call into question the attributions of the “living being” ?

The Legal Way to End Discrimination in the Church ? A way perhaps since the Church perseveres in justifying the non-access of women to religious office, sacramental and governmental.

Christians have the right to participate fully in the sacramental life of the Church regardless of "sex" and have the right to be nominated for all offices and ministries and as candidates for election to all assemblies.

A day will come when the Catholic Church will be regarded as an institution which must be tried and condemned..
