"I Have a Dream" Exhibition at MA-EC Gallery – Milan

From November 10 to 19, 2022, the MA-EC Gallery in the historic Palazzo Durini of Milan will be the stage for the powerful exhibition titled "I Have a Dream." This event, promoted by Artemida Experience and curated by Maxwell Done, brings together the works of 50 artists from across Europe. Through their art, these creators will explore crucial themes such as racial and gender discrimination, and the profound right to be oneself without societal masks or limitations.

Opening Night and Special Guests

The vernissage will take place on November 10, from 6 PM to 9 PM, and promises to be a remarkable event. The curator, Maxwell Done, will be joined by actor Livio Kone, known for his work with RAI and Netflix, to present the exhibition. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from lawyer Guariso, representing ASGI Italy, who will provide a legal perspective on the issues discussed.

The evening will be further enriched by a welcome drink featuring organic products and superfoods from Jack Fruit Eat, creating a perfect blend of art and nourishment for the mind and body.

Lenon B and the Artwork “Notre Dame de Paris”

I am deeply honored to participate in this exhibition with my artwork “Notre Dame de Paris.” This piece engages with the theme of gender discrimination within the Catholic Church, particularly the exclusion of women from roles of governance, teaching, and sanctification. My work raises the question: Is it time for the Church to align itself with the very principles of gender equality it advocates?

The freedom of religion today shields the Church from revisiting its stance on women's roles. Yet, it may be time to address the fundamental incompatibility between the exclusion of women from leadership roles and the rights that promote gender equality.

A Legal Debate on Women's Rights in the Church

The exclusion of women from positions of power in the Church is a form of discrimination. On a legal level, gender discrimination is seen as incompatible with human dignity. Numerous Catholics, both men and women, have long denounced the asymmetry between the roles assigned to women and men in the Church.

The discrimination against women in the Church must be addressed from a legal standpoint. Could the law be the path to ending these inequalities, given the Church's persistent justification for excluding women from sacramental and leadership roles?
