From 6 to 13 December 2023, contemporary art had its week in Lisbon with the second edition of the international exhibition "Mundo Criativo". The group show was held at the Centro Galego, in the heart of the Portuguese capital, and brought together more than 12 contemporary artists, me among them.
Many ways of creating
What I liked about "Mundo Criativo" was the variety of techniques: painting, photography, sculpture, acrylic on canvas, multimedia installations, digital photography… Each artist brought their own vision and their own medium, and the works answered one another around very different themes. For visitors, it was a good snapshot of what contemporary art looks like today, whether they came for abstract painting, photography or new forms of sculpture.
Meeting the artists
The artists were there in person, which is what I enjoy most: talking with visitors and collectors, explaining where a painting comes from, and hearing what they see in it. The Centro Galego, with its elegant architecture and spacious rooms, made a lovely setting for the works.
