Wine and Art at Quinta da Almiara with Lenon B, 10 October 2026

Wine and Art at Quinta da Almiara | 10 October 2026

On Saturday 10 October, I spent an incredible afternoon at Quinta da Almiara, in Torres Vedras, invited by Summerwine collective. Literature, wine, music and painting, all in one magnificent place, with the vineyards as far as the eye can see.

The film of the afternoon

My paintings facing the vineyards

I brought a small selection of my paintings, my catalogues, small original works and my MARY notebooks. Seeing my golds and my blues against the light of the vineyards was a real joy.

Words, wine and conviviality

The afternoon began with a literary tertúlia with the author Paulo Moreiras, moderated by José Pedro Mendes, followed by a visit of the winery and a wine tasting. Quinta da Almiara was an incredible host: a warm welcome, beautiful wines and a breathtaking setting.

One brushstroke each

Then came the moment I was waiting for: the collective canvas. I had prepared a deep wine-red background, in the colours of the vineyard. Then everyone took a brush, children and grandparents, friends and strangers, people who had never painted before. A tree appeared, then a heart, flowers, a mountain, the word FREEDOM, and everyone's signatures.

It is exactly what I love: no performance, just the pleasure of the gesture and of creating together. Thank you to each of you for your brushstroke.

Live music to finish

All afternoon, Rapaz Improvisado created the best atmosphere with his guitar. And in the blink of an eye, our afternoon of wine and art was over.

The finished canvas

Here it is, the canvas painted by everyone. It is coming back to my studio in Ericeira, and it will be on show at my Open House on Saturday 5 December.

Thank you

A heartfelt thank you to Summerwine collective for the invitation and the organisation, to Quinta da Almiara for being such a wonderful host, to Paulo Moreiras for the tertúlia and to Rapaz Improvisado for the music. It was an honour and a great pleasure, because I love wine as much as I love painting!

Would you like to see the canvas in person? Sign up for my newsletter to receive your invitation to the Open House on 5 December.
