My own Icarus. On a deep black background, reds and yellows shoot upwards like a flight towards the sun, then sink into darker tones: the fall is already there.
In Bruegel's painting, the fall of Icarus is almost nothing, two legs in the sea that nobody notices. I wanted the moment just before, when daring and recklessness look the same, and the light pulls you in as much as it burns.
