Kyoto started with Japanese lacquer: that very deep black, that red, and the gold that sometimes runs through them. On an intense black background, red rectangles stand out, touched here and there with gold.
The black makes the red look even warmer, and the gold catches the light when you walk past. A large canvas, 120 × 80 cm, that fills a wall on its own.
It belongs to my Colors in Freedom collection.
