A big canvas, 156 × 147 cm, in soft greens, pale pinks and muted yellows. It's my homage to Monet and his water lilies at Giverny, to the way he painted light on water.

Monet said: "I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers." I understand him. Here there are no real flowers, only colours laid gently next to each other, and a lot of calm.
