Lenon B finalist of the Sestante Art Prize 2025

Lenon B finalist of the Sestante Art Prize 2025

I’m delighted to share that I’ve been selected among the finalists of the Sestante Art Prize 2025, organized by Sestante Art Gallery in Cascais, in partnership with LOOMA.
This year’s exhibition, “The Image Within – A Imagem que te Habita”, will be on view from December 12 to 20, 2025.

The gallery introduces the exhibition as an invitation to dive into the inner dimension of creation — the image that inhabits each artist, that intimate space where memory, emotion, and imagination intertwine to give form to what cannot be said out loud.

More than a theme, The Image Within is a question : what forces and symbols shape our creative gesture ?

Every artwork becomes a fragment of this inner territory, a reflection of human experience, where the individual connects with the universal. Sestante’s curatorial vision embraces diversity as essence — welcoming distinct languages, techniques, and sensibilities, and transforming plurality into a vital force. In a time when uniformity threatens imagination, this exhibition reaffirms art as a space of poetic resistance, celebrating singularity as the heart of contemporary creation.

The curators extend this thought, reminding us that diversity is not dispersion but dialogue — a living pulse made possible by the encounter between inner universes. Techniques, formats, and visions differ, yet together they build a necessary narrative, alive and breathing. Archetypes of desire, fear, memory, and hope emerge in every piece. Each artist expresses them in their own way, and in this distinct gesture, art renews itself, expands, and multiplies.

Soul Dance — the energy from within

For this edition, I chose to present Soul Dance, a painting that I hold especially close to my heart.
It expresses the inner rhythm that drives me — that vital breath seeking harmony at the heart of chaos.

In this work, color becomes breath and movement. Reds, yellows, greens, blues, and violets collide and merge on a deep black background, like a cosmic choreography where light and shadow converse. Soul Dance translates the intimate movement of the soul — an inner dance unfolding between strength and fragility, between the visible and the invisible.
It faces the image that inhabits me.

Being among the 15 finalists is both an honor and a joy — a recognition that fuels the path ahead.

A constellation of inner worlds

Curator Fabiana Vizzani Reis reminds us that identity is born from difference, not in opposition to it.
Her approach shapes the entire exhibition.

As Gilles Deleuze wrote, “Difference is not what stands in opposition to identity, but that from which it is born.”

Each artwork becomes a window onto what inhabits us: desire, memory, fear, or hope. Together, they form a constellation of inner worlds — a collective act of resistance against uniformity and a celebration of the beauty of being different.

See you in Cascais

The exhibition will take place at Sestante Art Gallery, a space I deeply admire for its modern architecture, its ecological commitment, and its dedication to contemporary creation.
I’ll be there on December 12 to welcome you, celebrate this selection, and share the evening with fellow artists and our curator.
