Alpha is a single silhouette shared by a man and a woman. They mirror each other, a bit like yin and yang: one doesn't go without the other.
It reminds me of the story Aristophanes tells in Plato's Symposium: humans were once whole, then cut in two, and each half has been looking for the other ever since. The painting stays somewhere between abstraction and figure, in many colours.
It belongs to my The One-Offs and Colors in Freedom collections.
