Portugal has welcomed me since 2019, and Fátima is part of the soul of this country. This is my portrait of Our Lady of Fátima, an abstract one: a face with closed eyes, in deep green, sky blue and a burning orange.
The colours overlap and rub against each other, layer after layer. The closed eyes are not about giving in. For me they are about looking inward, in silence. She watches without imposing anything, and now lives in a private collection.
It belongs to my The One-Offs collection.
