"Faith is a vision of things unseen."
– Jean Calvin
Through this abstract portrait of Our Lady of Fátima, I pay tribute to the Portuguese soul that has welcomed me since 2019.
Here, faith is not doctrine. It is a silent presence. An inner strength. A fragile yet enduring light in the shadows.
I approached this face as a contemporary apparition. The colours overlap, rub against each other, sometimes collide. Deep green, celestial blue, incandescent orange… Layers like strata of memory, wounds and resilience.
The closed eyes express neither submission nor withdrawal. They suggest inwardness. Reflection. A gentle strength.
FATIMA, for me, is a bridge between tradition and modernity, between spirituality and abstraction. It speaks of love, dignity and hope. She watches without imposing.
This is not a work that seeks to convince. It simply invites you to feel.
