Fiery Silence is mostly blue, a deep blue laid on with a palette knife. Here and there, red and orange flash through, like embers under water. The title came from that contrast: a silence that burns a little underneath.
The knife leaves ridges and thin edges of paint that catch the light. It is a large square, 100 × 100 cm, calm from a distance and much more restless when you come closer.
