Flipper comes from the pinball machines of the 1970s: the noise, the lights, the ball you try to keep in play. Two spheres float between a bright yellow and a strong red, on a grey background.
The grey keeps things calm, the yellow and red bring the game. I see childhood in it, and something very current too. A square of 80 × 80 cm, bold and graphic.
It belongs to my Pop Seventies collection.
Would you like to see it in person? I welcome visitors to my studio in Ericeira, by appointment: send me a message on WhatsApp.
