Joachim is the name of the street where I was born. I painted this canvas right at the beginning, when I was just starting out as a painter, and it carries more of my story than it shows.
Yellow, orange and red like flames, and irregular black shapes, like what is left after a fire. The whole thing stands like a door. I didn't want to tell the story directly: it is about what burns, and what starts again afterwards.
It belongs to my Colors in Freedom collection.
