The Ghost Ship is an XL canvas that plunges into the depths of the sea. Shades of phthalo blue, dark undertones, and shimmering light evoke the haunting majesty of lost ships. Inspired directly by Wagner’s opera The Flying Dutchman, this piece carries the memory of interrupted voyages.
The inscribed names, like whispers in the water, add intimacy and mystery. While creating it, I felt a deep connection to these sunken stories — a blend of melancholy and beauty. To me, this work is both a symbol of life’s struggles and its quiet triumphs.
