I painted Memories without any plan. Layer after layer, texture after texture, something like a map appeared. Copper and ochre, with touches of gold that shine when the light moves.
Around it, a wide border of matte black keeps all that warmth in the middle. Proust had his madeleine. Here it is copper and gold, and each person will find a different memory in it.
It belongs to my Gold in the Dark collection.
Would you like to see it in person? I welcome visitors to my studio in Ericeira, by appointment: send me a message on WhatsApp.
