RRS Discovery is the name of a famous research ship. This painting is my small tribute to her, and to the people who go out to sea to understand it better. Deep blues and greens for the open ocean, touches of white and gold for the sun on the water.

I built it up in layers, with a lot of texture, so the surface seems to move. Up close, it is all ridges and little waves of paint.

It belongs to my Atlantic Blues collection.
