Sacromonte is the old gitano quarter of Granada, up on the hill, with its cave houses and its flamenco. I painted it in reds, a lot of reds, with a few lighter flashes and some gold.

The colours turn like a spinning skirt, and I like to think you can hear the heels on the floor. Lorca, a son of Granada, called that shiver "duende". I tried to put a little of it on the canvas.

It belongs to my Colors in Freedom collection.
