Vertical is exactly what the title says: coloured stripes from top to bottom, on a 100 by 100 cm canvas. Some are straight and parallel, some wobble a little. Blue, yellow, red and green, each stripe pushing against the next.
I can't paint stripes without thinking of Daniel Buren and his columns in the courtyard of the Palais-Royal in Paris. His are perfectly regular. Mine dance a bit more, closer to the seventies than to the museum.
It belongs to my Pop Seventies collection.
