An autumn Saturday afternoon in the Portuguese vineyards
This Saturday, 10 October, from 3:30 to 6:30 pm, I'll be at Quinta da Almiara, in Torres Vedras, north of Lisbon, with Summerwine Collective, for an afternoon of literature, wine tasting, music and painting. Together with the guests, we will paint a collective canvas, which I will unveil at my Open House on 5 December.
If you're nearby, it would be a real joy to meet you there: outdoors, with the good weather forecast, it promises to be lovely. On this occasion, I'm very happy to present the very first copies of my book…
The first little MARY notebook has arrived
Dear friend,
Today my heart is beating a little faster, and you are the ones I wanted to share this moment with.
You know me for my paintings and my colours. But I haven't told you everything: for a long time, I didn't dare to paint. I had neither the time, nor the space, nor really the courage. And then one day, I tried… and something opened up. Painting became my breath. It gave me back my confidence and taught me to let go.
That gift is one I really wanted to pass on to you. So after my art therapy training, I created MARY, Make Art Reconnect Yourself: moments when we paint to feel good, not to make something pretty.
And here it is, it's born! I'm delighted to introduce the first little notebook in the collection: Painting, the Power of Colour. I wrote it with you in mind, and with everyone who often tells me "Oh, I can't draw!".
It's a little book to keep close, to dip into whenever you feel like it or need it. Inside, you'll find:
- what art therapy is and why painting does you good;
- your relationship with colour and how to let go;
- nine gentle painting exercises, some of which take just ten minutes;
- a journal to keep track.
No need to know how to paint, I promise: some gouache, two brushes, a sheet of paper, and a little moment just for you.
It's available in French, English and Portuguese.
