San Francisco 1915 celebrated the opening of the Panama Canal, and showed the city was back on its feet after the 1906 earthquake. The Palace of Fine Arts was built for it, and it's still standing by the bay.

A city that rebuilds itself in nine years and throws a party: that's my kind of story. Blue, yellow, orange and black, on canvas 19 of the 20 in my World's Fair series, to hang on its own or with the others.

It belongs to my Pop Seventies collection.
